Fortunately the registers of the years 1535 till 1600* of the luthiers of Valencia are preserved. From the years after we learned additional names from some lawsuits. It turns out that today there are more luthiers recorded from the period 1535<=>1600 than from the 17th and 18th centuries combined > the latter look now more like Valencia’s dark ages.
